Ulster Grand Prix Race Night Fund Raiser Fancy a night out at the "Dogs" ?? ..... Well .... the Dundrod & District MC Club are organising a super night out at the wonderful " Drumbo Park Race Track" the super new attraction at Lambeg, Lisburn. Check out the photo's below and book your tickets for Thursday 27 th November. Tickets are a very reasonable £ 65 per person. All in All a super night out, not to be missed. It's shaping up to be a super night out so why not support the promoting club in their efforts to raise funds for the 2009 Ulster Grand Prix. See you all there.

Keeps Members Promise. Club chairman Des
Stewart presented a cheque for £20,000 to the Chairman of the Dundrod &
District Motorcycle Club Eric Oliver on behalf of the members of the Supporters
Club. Des Stewart said:" I have been supporting the Ulster for many, many years and yes there have been some wet ones, but no one could have been prepared for the terrible weather we experienced on race day this year. The Dundrod club tried their very best but to no avail. Full credit also to the riders and spectators for their patience and support throughout the day. Even though the event was cancelled everyone must realise that bills still have to be paid, he hoped that the Club’s donation would help ease the financial strain on the Dundrod Club”. Eric Oliver and Clerk of the Course Noel Johnston thanked all the supporters club members for their fantastic support and looked forward to organising a racing spectacular next year. Bring on August 2009.

Club Vow to Return Bigger & Better for 2009. The
Ulster Grand Prix will go ahead next year and the date of August 15 has been
applied for. The
Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week will begin on the Monday 10th August and the
Drundrod club hope to complete a full list of events. Eric
Oliver, Chairman of the Dundrod club said “We had terrible problems last
August because of the downpour which washed out the meeting”. “it
would have been easy to say that enough was enough but we are determined to
carry on and all being well the Ulster Grand Prix is set to take place”. Clerk
of the course Noel Johnston said “leading officials of the club have consulted
and while there was an enormous amount of financial damage we felt it was only
fair to make another effort next year”. Jim
Gray a leading member of the road racing section of the Ulster Centre
said:”The Dundrod club have put forward a proposed date”. “No decision has
been made on the next years meeting but I have no doubt that the Ulster Centre
will give the Dundrod club every backing”. Most
of the leading riders were keen to see the race go ahead among them the TAS
Suzuki team owned by Hector Neill. “I have as soft spot for the Ulster
Grand Prix and I would hate to see it lost. I am glad to see that there has been
a positive approach,” said Neill. The
Ulster Grand Prix has never been cancelled completely due to bad weather. Eric
Oliver said that all programmes for this years Ulster which were rendered
unusable would be replaced by the Dundrod club.

2008 Title Sponsor Announced The Dundrod Club have announced that the Belfast Telegraph are to be the main sponsor in august 2008. Noel Johnston ( Clerk of the Course ) stated that the Dundrod Club are delighted to again welcome the Belfast Telegraph as the main sponsor, the Telegraphs financial support is vital to maintaining and developing the event and he believes the paper's high profile will benefit the UGP in terms of additional spectators and competitors. The 2008 event will be enhanced by the news earlier this year that the UGP 125cc race will have full Grand Prix Status. The Telegraph's sports editor Steven Beacom said he was delighted to continue to support the Ulster Grand Prix and aim to generate in depth coverage in the lead up to and during the UGP this August. Lisburn Mayor Cllr James Tinsley said the Council has again agreed to provide financial assistance as well as technical assistance to help ensure the continuing success of the event.
Annual General Meeting The club's forty fifth annual general meeting will take place in the Maple Room, Lisburn Island Centre at 8.00 pm Wednesday 2nd April 2008. All members are welcome to attend and if you want to help out why not consider joining the committee.
Annual Grand Draw The Annual Grand Draw will take place on 16th April 2008, ballot tickets will be posted out along with annual membership renewal within the next couple of weeks. If any member requires extra books of tickets please contact the secretary, all support for the draw is greatly appreciated. Good Luck .....
